Most consistent band name misspelling

On the Reynolds thread, I noted that "Röyksopp" is rather often misspelt "Röyskopp" (with or without the ¨). Can you think of other band/artist names that are frequently misspelt, but nearly always in the same way? I recall having seen "Neubaten" pretty often, for a start.

you have already picked the most consistent one!

gareth (gareth), Monday, 6 January 2003 16:55 (twenty-two years ago)

Jackyl, Sigur Ross

(and in some alternate reality, wouldn't that be one heckuva strange double bill?)

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Monday, 6 January 2003 16:56 (twenty-two years ago)

Apparently Talk Talk is spelt Talking Heads.

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Monday, 6 January 2003 16:57 (twenty-two years ago)

the beetles!!

mark s (mark s), Monday, 6 January 2003 16:59 (twenty-two years ago)

Everything with umlauts/etc obviously, which can result in rather silly things, for example "Leve Vikingånden" (an Einherjer 7") roughly translates as "hail the viking spirit", while "Leve Vikinganden" means "hail the viking duck" (slightly less heroic sounding).

Siegbran (eofor), Monday, 6 January 2003 17:04 (twenty-two years ago)

OleM (OleM), Monday, 6 January 2003 17:15 (twenty-two years ago)

A similar one is Mortiis "Ånden Som Gjorde Opprør" ("the spirit that rebelled"), which, when writing "Anden", seems to indicate some sort of Chicken Run-type concept album called "the duck that rebelled".

Siegbran (eofor), Monday, 6 January 2003 17:16 (twenty-two years ago)

"the meatles". i ask you!

THE Throwing Muses. (no "the" in their name, folks)

mike a (mike a), Monday, 6 January 2003 18:00 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh, but is that a misspelling really? Lots of band names who get uptight about the lack of a "the." Buzzcocks, etc.

Amateurist (amateurist), Monday, 6 January 2003 18:23 (twenty-two years ago)

Siegbran is on fire!

Jody Beth Rosen (Jody Beth Rosen), Monday, 6 January 2003 18:25 (twenty-two years ago)

Amateurist (amateurist), Monday, 6 January 2003 18:28 (twenty-two years ago)

For years I kept asking for Les Mystére de Vox Bulgare without realizing that I had gotten every single word wrong.
(Real spelling is Le Mystère des Voix Bulgares)

Lord Custos Omega (Lord Custos Omega), Monday, 6 January 2003 20:02 (twenty-two years ago)

Yep, everybodies favorite Christian Metal band...

Lord Custos Omega (Lord Custos Omega), Monday, 6 January 2003 20:04 (twenty-two years ago)

okay, tho' Siegbran obviously ownz the "duck" trade here, repeatedly pointing out the tricky umlaut stuff, i can't help mentioning that an uncannily similar trasnmutation tends to happen to Arvo Pärt --
without those tiny dots, Part="Duck"

Tom (Groke), Monday, 6 January 2003 22:27 (twenty-two years ago)

Also for a long time Sisqo was ALWAYS spelt Sysqo on NYLPM and FT due to a mislabelled MP3.

What's remarkable about the Britney thing is that not one of the mis-spellings is of Spears. Both words are equally phonetic...I don't get it!
