Which DC FANZINES do you remember?

Held Like Sound is/was always great.

Yeah, Held Like Sound had a FANTASTIC article about The Nation of Ulysses/The Make Up by Travis Morrison.. worth hunting down, if you're into those bands at all, or even that scene. I believe it's online somewhere now.

Sadly, John has shut down HLS because Q & Not U is taking so much of his time. Mole is good but it comes out so irregularly.

When did the last issue come out? I wrote a bunch of reviews for HLS maybe two years ago (maybe later), and then never saw a copy or anything... I've wondered if it actually came out. I know John was saying he has having a hard time getting pieces from folks, but then I never heard if there was a resolution.

heldlikesound.com always has/had top 10 lists that were a great mix of inane and thoughtful. It was a great zine and Corm were a pretty good band thus it disturbs me that I don't like Q and Not U all that much.

There's this great suburban MD goth/metal zine that I cannot for the life of me remember the name of. Suburban MD goth/metal bands are the bomb. Getting an opening gig at Jaxx is the best they will ever do, and they realize this, so they write songs about HR Giger ("Herr... GIGER... what's inside your mind?").

Maybe that's just one particular suburban MD goth/metal band that does that but it's still cool.

anybody have any old WDC Periods?

Gait Ataxia, Tuesday, 7 January 2003 01:52 (twenty-two years ago)

I don't have any WDC Periods on hand but Gordon Gordon may. He's been in Seattle for a while now. Try him at gordon@cnw.com.
What about TRULY NEEDY? Many great articles. Very cleverly written. Anyone know if that was ever resurrected?

Nation of Ulysses/The Make Up are great. Can't remember the name of the babe in Make Up but would like her number!

Sorry to bump but isn't CITY PAPER's message board a bit irritating to follow?

Luxuria, Tuesday, 7 January 2003 02:25 (twenty-two years ago)

Her name is (Miss) Michelle Mae. My ex named his car after her. Sorry, no digits.
