Inspired by a re-reading of the Gravity Records-centric thread from earlier this year. What do you guys think are the best and worst things he's participated in?

The early Moss Icon seven-inches aren't much to write home about, though far from bad. Not up to par with Lybernum however. Lava never grabbed me until recently, and they're also somewhat generic, so I'd be more inclined to place them in the dud category.

I really don't like The Convocation Of. They used to sound like Unwound, and now they sound like Unwound + King Crimson.

Universal Order of Armageddon were pretty solid, and some of the Born Against stuff he was involved with is pretty good as well.

The only stuff I ever heard was the Great Unravelling (live) and a UOoA 12" and of course Born Against. I liked all of it.

lava - sorta ok. hasn't stood the test of time so great.

moss icon - i like for nostalgic reasons mostly.

the great unraveling... the 7 inch i have is very solid.

uoa - the gravity 12" is the best. the 7" are ok. "switch is down" is pretty good... but the gravity 12" rocks.

born against - classic but generic

breathing walker - moss icon but more grateful deadish. scary bad. hehe.

convocation of - the first bit of stuff was ok... i gave up on it tho.

talented and so on... but back in the day my pals used to rag on him pretty good for being too much of a scenester and putting himself up above.

that's hearsay for ya.

UOA is all good I think. as is the Born Against stuff he was involved in. Moss Icon, I'm with msp, don't really dig out the records but they're worth owning. Great Unravelling and Convocation Of both blew me away live but the records never quite cut it...

he Great Unraveling 7" I have is probably the weirdest TJ material.

He's an idiot and a thief (stole an entire RECORD LABEL!), and disses me in interviews. Fuck him.

...and he had the Hated 12" mastered too slow and never keeps any of those Vermin Scum releases in print. (Colin, was it you that started Vermin Scum?)

Anyway, I do like the Great Unraveling 7" way more than the album.

UOA - all pretty good. Supposedly, the live record that was meant to come out sometime in the last two years on GSL is amazing. There's a song from that recording on one of those Kill Rock Stars comps (the blue one).

Born Against - played on probably my favorite song I've heard by them ("I Am A Idiot").

Convocation Of... - first 'remix' 12" is great. Everything else is a major disappointment. They were good live, but in retrospect probably the best thing about seeing Convocation Of... was seeing Lightning Bolt for the first time when they were opening for CO....

No, Kenny Hill started Vermin Scum, and was very surprised one day to see an ad in MRnR with a different address on it.
