'Real Life' is probably their weakest track for me...i like the miserable vibe of it in a way but the plodding dissonance and failure to expand on the 'we live our lives, but we're worlds apart' is disappointing really

why? cos it's xfm aka "steve lamacq's taste in dance music isn't that bad really" and i never much cared for lumpen postpub big beat. also i wonder (especially given comparisons to audiobullys and what with temple-morris saying the EXACT SAME THING re ghost town about the streets last year) to what extent the streets was upheld on xfm just as a false community singalonga everyman geezer; i almost hear sighs of relief there, as if saying yeah they're like the streets only without that problematic stuff we can't conga to, wahey

which makes me think that the streets were the novelty exception that i'd throw in with dizzy and more fire. ok maybe not go that far, but certainly seperate from audiobullys. it's all about how the listeners relate, innit? xfm = richmond authenticity

Zemko, Dizzee Rascal and the Streets can only be novelty acts to an Xfm listener. Can i be the first to say that another reason i dislike audio bullys (and would take rolldeep, horsepower, more fire over em anyday) is that the production sounds really cheap and dated?
Also let us not forget audio bullys make HOUSE rolldeep et al GARAGE.

Yes lets not forget Audio Bullys make house not garage as both the above seem to have done, saying you'd take Roll Deep "over them" is thus a bit stupid. Some people do genuinely prefer house, whatever anyone thinks about the Bullys.

I didn't like how the MC'ing on "We Don't Care" is so dominant - "Real Life" is just about that groove, and everything else is just spicing it up a bit. Although the high pitched synth line is a tad annoying, it sounds much less cheesy than "We Don't Care" which goes much more for novelty value, or so it seems.

But then again, I'm not British, so I might be missing the things about Audio Bullys that makes them so great for the natives?

Stanton Warriors have a massive reputation as total wankers at this point. My friend was support at their show here and they practically told him to fuck off when they were going on. Also they've been fucking about with labels to make as much cash as possible, and delaying the album so so long. I mean the iron was hot about 2 years ago! Having said that the Stanton Sessions is enough to believe they could do something magic. I want to see Audio Bullys DJ.
