rfi: london-based piano movers

I need to get a piano transported across london: do any london-based musicians have any contacts of people who are inexpensive but utterly reliable? there are several flights of stairs involved?

and it's not an upright, so will need taking to pieces — so they probably need to be actual real piano-moving professionals, not just you and yr mates for a pony sorted

mark - there's a shop in Chalk Farm who can arrange for pianos to be shifted. I really can't remember the name - but will ask t'otha half later when she gets back -she bought our pianner there.

Look in Yellow Pages under 'piano..' (there are at least three companies in there explicitly offering a piano removals service). Mind you my YP is London North, yours would be London East.

the reason i asked here was to trawl for attested reliability — ie someone who had actually had a piano moved by [xy] and not all smashed to pieces — which yellow pages cannot really provide (cf my experience w.glaziers and the skylight in my building)

She couldn't remember who they were, but yes it was delivered by the chalk farm people unscathed. I think they only deliver though if you buy.
