Best ever.

Those kittens do get around. And they actually made me want to listen to the song for about thirty seconds...

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 13 January 2003 16:01 (twenty-two years ago)

It's funny.

:-)

(but time for a change - hip-hop kittens next time eh?)

Jeff W, Monday, 13 January 2003 17:36 (twenty-two years ago)

Not quite hip hop but...

"brilliant performance" and "Vines" don't really fit together well in a sentence, do they!

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Monday, 13 January 2003 18:30 (twenty-two years ago)

--i thought their appearance on Letterman was noteworthy.

christoff (christoff), Monday, 13 January 2003 18:37 (twenty-two years ago)

Did you even click the link alex?

, Monday, 13 January 2003 18:49 (twenty-two years ago)

And I thought nothing in the WORLD could make me ever listen to a Vines song. I collapsed in hysterical laughter every time the singercat got in my face.

kate, Monday, 13 January 2003 18:53 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah Craig himself would be proud of that imitation.

, Monday, 13 January 2003 19:14 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah, I saw the link (ho ho, kitty cats singing), but it has precious fuck-all to do with the Vines.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Monday, 13 January 2003 19:33 (twenty-two years ago)

Alex, do you hate cute?

Sterling Clover (s_clover), Monday, 13 January 2003 19:33 (twenty-two years ago)

No, I hate predictable cliché.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Monday, 13 January 2003 19:35 (twenty-two years ago)

I think you have to know what the Craig looks like when he sings to appreciate it.

, Monday, 13 January 2003 19:37 (twenty-two years ago)

But Craig doesn't typically look angry like that kitten, he just looks like that one guy who's trying really hard to let everyone know just how drunk and crazee he is.

Amateurist (amateurist), Monday, 13 January 2003 19:40 (twenty-two years ago)

He doesn't look angry but he has both his eyes and his mouth wide open.

, Monday, 13 January 2003 19:42 (twenty-two years ago)

Craig's facial ticks/schtick (to say nothing of his vintage t-shirt fetish) are one of the main things that prevent me from appreciating their music. The bass player's track suits bug me too.

I dunno. They just seem like they're trying way too hard. There are certainly worse bands out there, though.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Monday, 13 January 2003 19:55 (twenty-two years ago)

the hilarious thing about the animation is how closely it mimics the video - stagediving kittens and band falling over and everything!!!

nine years pass...

CRAIG Nicholls is set to face court after he was arrested at the weekend for allegedly assaulting his parents.

Police claim The Vines frontman punched his mother in the head and tried to evade arrest after officers were called to his house in south east Sydney on Saturday, the The St George & Sutherland Shire Leader reported.

Officers allegedly used capsicum spray to subdue him.

Police Inspector Robert Duncan said: "He tried to evade police and (a) violent struggle ensued. A police officer suffered grazes, cuts and bruises to both elbows and knees."

Nicholls, 35, is set to face court tomorrow. He has been charged with two counts of domestic assault, stalking or intimidation, resisting arrest and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
