I think they re-recorded them themselves (they didn't sound very "vintage") and then scratched them using CD-Js, or they just laced the scratches around them.
But why would they do that? I can't believe they got into trouble, they can't be that well-known (those samples, I mean). And it was a fucking artistic crime.
He bought his copy a couple of months ago, I bought mine in August 2001 (I think). Anybody else heard these two versions? What's the deal?

No, there aren't any more samples, per say. But on the original version I downloaded, way before the album appeared in the UK, "that boy needs therapy" was delivered by one, deadpan sample. When I got round to buying it the following summer, all the vocal samples had been replaced by re-recorded ones, in much goofier voices.
Likewise, Extra Kings really misses the cascading flute sample that's laid over the top of it. Anyone know if its still possible to get my hands on a copy of the original?
