Psyche-prog goes heavy AOR - the stupid (or is that "smart"?) alternative to going fusion. Guitarists with rhyming-slang-worthy names, future-sexist alb covers ('Force It' and 'Lovedrive'), retro-future-retro logos (logoes?), big in Japan etc.
Heroic guitar showpiece - "Rock Bottom" or "We'll Burn the Sky"?
Lighter-waver - the blokey, beery "Only You Can Rock Me" or the gotterdamerung "We'll Burn the Sky"?
Eternal-darkness-falls metaphor - "Lights Out" or "We'll Burn the Sky"?
To those of you who are proud of not having an opinion either way - "In Trance" is a lied every bit the equal of Abba's "Eagle", so there!

Number of UFO songs I like: "Doctor Doctor," "Natural Thing."

Number of (Uli era) Scorpions songs I like : "Robot Man," "In Trance," "Speedy's Coming," "The Sails of Charon" and, yesiree, "We'll Burn the Sky" (Uli's solo in that = DUDE! I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS GUY!).

i used to have a tape with a live version of 'lights out' on it and that was a truly great song. was uli the singer before mr klaus? i used to have blackout when i was 12.

one month passes...

'polar nights' - luvvit loads - amazing amount of scorps fans in 80s Northumberland - liked ufo but they only had 6 classic songs on most recent tour - scorps with roth were better - scorps thereafter much better - classic donington performance esp.

four months pass...

Man, this is tough choice. Initially I was just a Scorpions fan, then I discovered M. Schenker and his heroics at MSG and UFO and Uli is my latest discovery. Obviously, it's according to the commercial success enjoyed by these artists. Uli and Michale are truely guitar legends and Scorpions have become legends in them selves having both of them as their lead axes at times.
