"Heavy Metal: Music from the Motion Picture": Classic or Dud

Bought it prior to even seeing the film in `81 on sprawling double vinyl. The title track(s) by Sammy Hagar and Don "forgotten Eagle" Felder alone make it a hilarious classic in my book, but there's also Devo's take on "Working in a Coal Mine," the CD 101 cool of Donald Fagen's "True Companion" (a Steely Dan vet on an album dubbed 'heavy metal'?) plus, of course, Blue Oyster Cult, French metalheads Trust and...er..Stevie Nicks. It's actually a pretty mixed, eclectic bag.
