What other Relapse stuff are you guys into? I was listening to a great Mastodon album the other night.
I did think that maybe some of the Origin might be better if they did more of the time changes and stops and starts. The relentless double-bass hammering could maybe stand to be broken up a bit. It's still quite good though. I like how the vocals in different ranges are used.

solid record
i like tech-death but i'm never sure i know what the stakes are, like, what would count as a really impressive record. they seem to vary between hyper-mechanical virtuosity and hyper-brutal bludgeoning, so that i can't find a really obvious sweet spot between those. (and i guess virtuosity in itself is not impressive, without a sense of something else.)
