I think they're pleasant enough. But worth paying money for?

California is catchy. the other couple songs i heard didn't grab me, but haven't heard the rest of the record. i walked past a few of them at an Elvis Costello show last year, they were some of the only other guys my age there, so i give them props.

Saw 'em supporting Ther Vines in London last year, fairly unremarkable as I recall, but then again the whole night was pretty meh. Craig Nichols was pretty then though, he seems to have aged hugely. Bwahaha.

the s/t has a few good pop songs, and i thought The Guest was relatively impressive and a fun listen, if only for a couple months. you could do much, much worse than them, that's for sure.

It will be a crime if Jason Shwartzman isn't cast as Keith Moon in the biopic 'MOON'. Apparently its between Shwartzman and Mike Myers (granted, a bigger star but looks alot less like Keith).

CretanBull (CretanBull), Tuesday, 4 February 2003 08:25 (twenty-three years ago)

last year they stood beside me and my cousin (not vice versa) in the aeroport waiting to retrieve our luggage.

Uhh, Mike Myers is fortysomething!

Anyway, just saw PP on Letterman and they were darned good. Jason was impressive on drums.

Anyone else heard the new one? Its pretty good esp. the first 3 songs. Much noisy-er, kinda Strokes-y except with some bass way up there. I was pleasantly surprised and will probably never listen to the album again.

three years pass...

dud obviously.

'orange county' is one of the worst movies of the decade.

The lead singer's cover of Radiohead's "Just" with Mark Ronson is the best thing to come out of this band.

that's pretty damning. without having heard it obviously.

"OC" song pretty classic.

The Guest was the soundtrack to my summer of 2002. I thought they were kind of fun. Even though their lead singer is a proto-Adam Levine.

Haven't heard anything else since except that one Strokes-ish song with the Spike Jonze-directed zombie video.

Massive dud.
