is EMI taking us for a bunch of goldfishes ?

no amount of polish

I'm confused by this whole thing -- is it just a weird coincidence that the unspectorized tracks are announced at the same time as the 500 hours of stolen tapes? Is there a relationship between those two things at all? What's up with this, I'm serious.

Also, I keep seeing the tapes referred to as a "Lost Album" but aren't they just room tapes of the Let it Be sessions? It's not like the VU collection, is it, where they were originally slated for another album alltogether?

what's occuring at the spector mansion? murder? mayhem? his name flashed quickly across the news last night. isn't he supposed to be busy with starsailor's new album, or something? is this a new thread?

Can't Paul McCartney leave well enough alone? First he goes switching the songwriting credits to McCartney-Lennon and now this.

Now, you can call me cynical if you want, but Elvis Presley recently notched up his 18th UK number one. After Baby It's You, Free as a Bird and Real Love all failed to get one up on the King, this reeks of a desperate attempt to at least match him. The fact that the single is apparently aimed at the Christmas market speaks volumes. It should be interesting listening at least.

which single are you talking about ?
are they re-releasing a track off the album as
a single ?
where did you hear that ?

piscesboy, Wednesday, 5 February 2003 12:26 (twenty-three years ago)

bringing out an unspectorised Let It Be as a single album (not buried in that anthology thing) sounds like a straightforwardly good thing, and if this is what you are talking about I am all for it.

It was some beerchat that took place over the weekend. My mate told me down the pub, and I didn't think to ask for his sources. I just picked up that Let It Be would be out as a single later in the year. Dunno if that be gospel (ha!) or mere beersay.

two years pass...
and while we're at it where is the much-trumpeted LET IT BE dvd release? it was all over the news in summer 2005.
