I can understand why Metallica is doing this tour. They need to hit up the young kids who listen to Linkin Park and Limp Bizkit so they can look trendy and hip. Even if a lot of metal fans don't like it, the entire run will probably sell out. I would love for it to fail and for both Metallica and Limp Bizkit to have CDs that don't sell, but I know better. Unless the fans of the world prove me wrong, this will go over huge. Oh well.

I'm looking forward to Glastonbury. maybe this year I will achieve my ambition of seeing no bands whatsoever on the main stages.

Let's just hope that's the Sunday line-up (Sunday usually seems to be crap at Reading lately) and they get someone decent on Friday and Saturday....

As for Leeds, I think it'll be best if there isn't a festival at Leeds in the wake of the trouble there last year because Reading seems to have gone rapidly downhill the last couple of years.

So far Muse and The Strokes are rumoured for Reading

while Radiohead and Red Hot Chili Peppers are being talked about for V.

I would be suprised if Yeah Yeah Yeahs weren't at either of those.

i want to plan a trip somewhere to see a bunch of bands in a city far from my home. big music festivals are sort of out because i don't like being around that many people or seeing bands in that type of atmosphere. i just want to see a bunch of bands curated by someone or other. like the million tongues festival in chicago, but not in chicago.

So far I found some sort of Florida Old Time Music championship, but I want to see what all of my options are without poring through the music listings of dozens of local weeklies. I also don't really want to go to Florida.
