One of 'em looks like Billy Corgan and another like the Bloodhound Gang's singer. I don't know a flying butt fuck about their music, though.

two weeks pass...
How about we call it even in hereby stating that The Zombies are "art-trash hose-heads" (actually, that would be an accurate description of Frank Zappa, to me - settle down, Zappa-heads, I didn't mean that in a "bad" way).

Well, on the strength of their final album 'Odessey & Oracle'...I would definitely say that they should be regarded with...some regard.

I would say that The Turtles are the more appropriate in place of The Zombies on this one (personally). Seeing as they (The Turtles) never put together as solid an over-all album as 'Odessey & Oracle'. But, had some fun/groovy ditties.

Christ, you CANNOT be serious about pissing on the Zombies like this. (Oh, wait - I mean to be level-headed.)

They had groovy ditties aplenty. "A Rose for Emily", "Care of Cell 44", "Time of the Season" (of course), "She's Not There", "Tell Her No", "Goin' Out of My Head", "This Will Be Our Year". Oh, man. You can't go wrong with _Odyssey & Oracle_ & one of those 20+ track retrospectives (ideally covering their pre-Odyssey period).

Of course, if you're an OCD freak like me, you'll splurge on the _Zombie Heaven_ boxset. 1 disc of early singles, 1 disc of _Odessey & Oracle_-era tracks, 1 disc of studio demos & outtakes, & 1 disc of BBC sessions. Oh, my. The box set lives up to its name. And Colin Blunstone...ah, shit.

The TURTLES? Ah, stick Ed & Flo up your Gulp 'n' Blow. Not that I know of the Turtles to be so bold, but SO dud just for suing De La Soul for trying to redeem one of their songs.

one year passes...
(more than a year later) dave2 entirely missed my point - i was PRO-zombies ('odessey & oracle' is brilliant) and that the turtles were more the ones to be questioned in PLACE of the zombies within this thread (as in, the turtles were the ones with a few "groovy songs, but...") - reading comprehension people, can't stress that enough. (i shall await your response in a year)

Man, I used to be such a crank.
