Besides Dizzy Gillespie?

At least two tunes on The Blueprint feature trumpets.

Aren't there trumpets in 'Bop Gun'?

gabbneb (gabbneb), Saturday, 8 February 2003 19:17 (twenty-two years ago)

Hmm, not ska or salsa, sorry for being so picky!
I was thinking of something like Beautiful day by Julian Cope. Actually I got a few tunes in my head but I cant seem to be able to put names to them.
Any mind readers out there ? ;-)

Every New Orleans brass band tune ever. Seriously. Just listen to any recent Rebirth Brass Band with Kabuki playing trumbet. Or New Birth, Treme (w/Kermit Ruffins), Mama Digdown's, Youngblood, or Leroy Jones, etc. It's a trumpet town.

thomas de'aguirre (biteylove), Sunday, 9 February 2003 15:51 (twenty-two years ago)

The liner notes don't indicate that a trumpet is played on the Beefheart album that comes from. It says trombone. (I was going to mention it, but then I have doubts.) Are you sure there's a trumpet in there?

Rockist Scientist, Sunday, 9 February 2003 15:55 (twenty-two years ago)

you may be right..i was musing..trombone it is.

totally spunky 'trumpet'-featuring toon! -
INVADERS OF THE HEART feat.Zahrema: "The Unspoken word"
-- espec. the moment at 01:39 where the 'trumpet' solo stops on a high note, whence Zahrema's vocalese instantly, effortlessly takes over
(the fact that the 'trumpet' is evidently a syth-mimicry doesn't sully the enjoyment at all)
