...did anyone see Born Sloppy on TV recently with Matt Lucas (George Dawes, Shooting Stars) dressed up as Kelly Osborne?

How uncanny? Apart from Mr Lucas is ten times as attractive.

And Jack Osborne's face when 'she' walked on... classic.

Jack's face during the lapdance was a picture as well - lucky bastard

Well it was funny but the accent was WAY off.

And while we're on the subject, what a lame show. It puports to be a music show but just seems to have celebrity guests nattering with Sara Cox. And whenever a band actually starts playing they seem to cut into an advert break, returning for the end of the song. I mean, come on, even The Word treated music with more respect than that.

it is really poorly executed - like they just wanted a stripped down clone of the TFI Friday format but without the laddish aspects and britpop/dadrock connection...tho the result here is equally unappealing, its actually less clever than TFI (Evans did acually have some great ideas now and then), just dumb vacuous viewing designed because apparently 15-25 year olds (presumed target audience) only want dumb, vacuous viewing?

Your friends around a table in a pub.

so you'd come back from a night out in the pub round a table with your friends, turn on the TV and all watch yourself sitting round a table in the pub? interesting...

LOL, but you only said "ideal friday night viewing" not telly viewing.

Hmm, the pedant in me...

Chewshabdoo, Tuesday, 11 February 2003 06:34 (twenty-two years ago)

..is in me too.

Ideal viewing would be a mix between TFI Friday (which undoubtedly hadf some fantastic ideas, but was spoiled by Evan's penchant for shite musical guests), The Word (always underrated, sorely missed) and the Tube (possibly the finest music programme ever - Paula and Jools - TV heaven).... with a bit of Liquid News thrown in for good measure.

The accent was meant to be way off - that's Matt Lucas for you - but the accent is how you'd imagine Ms Osborne to speak - nasal, irritating, L.A. drawl.... like a Jerry Springer guest!

Matt Lucas - how much of a genius is he? Rob Brydon, Matt Lucas, Peter Kaye and Ricky Gervais.... Christ, British comedy really IS great at the moment.

For Evans read Baker.

Venga, Tuesday, 11 February 2003 12:26 (twenty-two years ago)

No, Baker had some great pies now and then.

Matt Lucas is really on form on Shooting Stars at the moment too, as are Vic n Bob believe it or not - this series has been a lot funnier than the last one thats for sure

but the new Lucas show on BBc THREE 'little britain' wasnt very good i thought

stevem (blueski), Tuesday, 11 February 2003 14:49 (twenty-two years ago)

Missed the BBC3 preview the other night.... but I can't wait to see their character Dafydd on Little Britain - determined to be the only gay man in his valley village. Sounds hysterical.

I thought Shooting Stars was better than ever recently, too. I thought it had grown a bit tired and samey during the last series.... but this one's bang on form.

Apparently, Matt Lucas was really great in that Boy George musical Taboo recently, he did a stint as Leigh Bowery.

"george's songs" have been uniformly excellent
