What labels/fanzines/radio stations/people should I send my band's demo to?

This is not just a ploy to get more people to hear my band. I have sent our demo to 40 labels with no reply (well March said the cd broke apart in the post so could we please send another).
anyways, my spirits have been rekindled as we charted #37 on the canadian college charts this week (meaniful for a canadian i suppose).

so check out the diskettes http://www.ugrad.physics.mcgill.ca/~ddd
and tell me where to send it, please.

Start regional...send a copy to everyone in the cities you'll be playing in at least 2 weeks to a month before you'll be there. Often people who wouldn't give you a chance normally will do a little feature because of an upcoming gig. Follow up and be polite. Work with the promoters at the venues and ask them to ask newspaper/radio for coverage of the gig...that way the promoter is working in his/her own self-interest but also yours!

Well, you can always send it to me:

Frank Kogan
PO Box 9761
Denver CO 80209-0761

Of course, that in $1.15 will probably only get you on the bus, but I do review music.

one year passes...
And in London/the UK?

It's a pretty demeaning process, the whole begging for attention thing.

Yeah, that's a good question. I mean, I already asked about labels and things this morning, but radio... never mind, I gave up on UK radio a long time ago.
