's got the groove. I'd say you could flip off any number of people while dancing to this.

Is it a cover of Flux Of Pink Indian's "Mixomatosis"? Cuz,if it is,I might need to hear that.Radiohead could do with a little bit of crust under their nails. I'd like to hear their version of "Tube Disaster" as well.

FOPI SCHMOPI! (i.e. no or very unlikely) ;-)

It is diabolical and evil.
And beautiful.
And it's hard to hear live because the bass is so loud that the rest of the song is lost.

I can't parse the rhythm, either.

I'm a big fan of the song. It's one of their harsher tunes, very nice work with whatever the hell kinda hardcore instruments they use for that.

Is it about rabbits?

I am still waiting for Christmas...

It sounded rubbish rubbish rubbish on the unmixed versions, but I really enjoyed it live and on HTTT proper. Its gone from being this clumsy hunchbacked scuzzy avant-rock thing to a farty electro thing with funky drumming and thus sounds so much better.

greatest ever song they ever did do.
(um, i like it lots.)

i don't like this one much. one of the five or six drab songs that makes "hail to the thief" a bit disappointing.

I loved it when I saw it live, and I love to listen to it on the album.

JP Almeida (JP Almeida), Tuesday, 10 June 2003 16:25 (twenty-two years ago)

it's one of my least favourite tracks on the album along with the gloaming

dog latin (dog latin), Tuesday, 10 June 2003 16:37 (twenty-two years ago)

I love it.

I like how on the live version, the drums are more syncopated and are playing around the bass rhythm in the verses, which 6 + 6 + 4 beats (at least that's how I think of it). Of course this adds up to 16 and you can divide into a straight 4, and that's what the drums on HTTT do, it's more stable but still provides a nice disorienting effect. It also sounds like he overdubbed live drums tossing in some stuff around the straight 4/4 beat in the verses.

Okay now I just hear it in 4/4.

Myxomatosis is amazing. My favorite Radiohead song ever. It one of the most original songs I have heard. Sung straight out of Thom Yorke's mind onto record. A truly amazing song. A masterpiece; but so is Hail To the Thief.

Andy Jones!, Thursday, 23 October 2003 22:07 (twenty-one years ago)

I'd say it's a classic, and one of the best songs on the Hail To The Thief album. I wouldn't want to dance to it, though.

The song is pretty good live. It gives Yorke a chance to run around the stage and do his sickly-yet-menacing dance moves.

I generally prefer the Radiohead songs which emphasize keyboards and drums, so me loving this song should be no surprise.

Matthew Perpetua (Matthew Perpetua), Thursday, 23 October 2003 22:31 (twenty-one years ago)

It is fantastic live, but at the Toronto show some poor fellow passed out and Thom stopped the song until security got him out of the pit. "Third verse from the top" and then they were playing again like nothing happened. That's showmanship.

peanut (peanut), Thursday, 23 October 2003 23:26 (twenty-one years ago)

Wish I could see them on this tour, so I could hear this done live, as the studio version just rocks! HTTP as a whole is pretty tight (to me), but this is a highlight.

Nichole Graham (Nichole Graham), Thursday, 23 October 2003 23:44 (twenty-one years ago)

The Flux of Pink Indians song is better!!
