Teen Cthulhu rules!

unfortunately, that's all i have.

i have their split with iron lung (pretty good hardcore band from reno).

their track on subpop's nw hardcore comp is much more explosive.

they tend to do the dramatic sample followed by guitar explosion sort of thing.

they have a new full length out.

a few i can think of...

bloodhag.... educore.... the lyrics are about sci-fi writers... the music is thrash.

akimbo... thrash. (i've heard one of theirs on that same nw hardcore comp)

the whips... two ex-KARP and joe "the thrones" preston!!

very thin the herd and wantage connected me thinks...

i'd just hit their sites and see who they're playing with locally.

Educore?

educational hardcore. the idea that hardcore lyrics don't have to be just about fucking shit up. you could teach math if you wanted. but bloodhag, being the founders of the idea in a way, chose to make their lyrics critiques and bios of the greatest sci-fi writers. they have songs titled, "kurt vonnegutt", "phillip k dick", "frank herbert", "ray bradbury", etc etc....

i suppose if musically you aren't really going to traverse new ground, you might as well thematically... ??
