I'm a little tipsy, too. It's a popular sport. Some nights, I think we should all move over to the "ask a drunk" forum. Maybe some hybrid... "Ask a drunk what he thinks about music."

Kenan Hebert (kenan), Sunday, 16 February 2003 08:15 (twenty-two years ago)

Tipsy here too... Only I'm mp3'ing a bunch of Serge Gainsbourg that I'm borrowing from a friend, so right now:

gaz (gaz), Sunday, 16 February 2003 08:35 (twenty-two years ago)

Reiterating what should have been said in the intro -- this is more interesting if you tell us where you are and what time it is. That way, we learn three thing about each other -- what we're listeining to, where we are, and what insane hours we keep.

Kenan Hebert (kenan), Sunday, 16 February 2003 08:39 (twenty-two years ago)

"Trapped" has become "Hangin on a string" by Loose ends. I'm at home. The kids are in bed. I have had 3 bottles of homemade beer. Today I reorganised the house. It is 7.30 EST. I am chewing gum. I have on a pair of baggy cream shorts and an SBS Radio T-shirt. It is hot and humid. As I type "Your Life by Konk has come on. A ceiling fan whirs. Soon I will eat pesto...

duane, Sunday, 16 February 2003 09:01 (twenty-two years ago)

Mr Diamond,
Not on slsk. Can post you an mp3. A few minutes please.

gaz (gaz), Sunday, 16 February 2003 09:03 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm just vain enough to play along.

Drinking: Aberlour 10-yr-old Highland Single Malt Scotch, in my favorite way, which is room temperature, no ice, splash of spring water. Brings out the sweetness in the best Scotch for its price (about $30.)
Wearing: My favorite yellow button-down shirt, which used to be shiny but isn't anymore becuase I didn't "dry clean only." And jeans.
Weather: 39 degrees and humid as the inside of my esophagus.
Girlfriend: Asleep, beautiful, talented, and smarter than me by her own admission.
Wishing: I was in Chicago, maybe at the Green Mill seeing some nice jazz. Wishing, in effect, that I needed a much bigger coat to go outside. Damn, I love that city.

Kenan Hebert (kenan), Sunday, 16 February 2003 09:06 (twenty-two years ago)

Don't bother (coming to Chicago), it's like -10 degrees f. in my apartment. The Green Mill is hosting a bad organ quartet right now, no doubt.

Amateurist (amateurist), Sunday, 16 February 2003 09:08 (twenty-two years ago)

Yes, but imagine you're in Texas and listening to the Aluminum Group, and you begin to see why it's so easy for me to romanticize Chicago right now.

Fillmore Jive by Pavement.

I used to hate the self-indulgent wishy washy guitar ones like that and some of the ones on Brighten the Corners, but now I like them. At the time that sort of thing seemed the province of dinosaur rockers like Neil Young; but now that Pavement are dinosaur rockers themselves, it seems perfectly in order, while the arty ironic stuff has wanned on me.

Best Mate for the Gold Cup tomorrow.
