"sk8er boi": Can this be done?

Forgive me for I am a complete smartarse living nowhere in particular, and I may be plotting some great blasphemy in the circles of Chartpop. However...

Do you think it would be possible to play "Sk8er Boi" w/ only Rebirth, a kazoo, and an inflated sense of my own self worth, and make it actually sound GOOD (this being the operative word, as opposed to 'faithful to the original recording'l which isn't)? Is the tie and whiny demeanor ABSOLUTELY essential to the song being any good at all, even if I don't show my arse, midriff or tits?

And just so you know, EVERYONE who this would be performed for would have heard it beforehand. I mean it.

Thanks in advance...and please don't yell at me.

well, i sang it on new years without a tie or a whiny demeanor, but i found that near alcohol poisoning helped immensely

Jim, you could play Wagner with just Rebirth and a Kazoo (and your self-worth). What about a real challenge?

*just read the other thread*

I think your thread is very funny you bastard.

I don't think it's that funny.

So that's one for, one against.

jel -- (jel), Friday, 21 February 2003 22:36 (twenty-two years ago)

Maybe not yet, but I bet Avril will be a standard "ironic" cover choice a few years from now - just like "Baby One More Time" was covered at least once or twice.

mike a (mike a), Friday, 21 February 2003 22:56 (twenty-two years ago)

No, play some WINGS songs! Not Winger, Wings!

mike a (mike a), Friday, 21 February 2003 22:56 (twenty-two years ago)
