POO!: Really with lots of noise

To distract from the Choose Between madness, a throwback to the POO! craze... I was going to start a POO! Boredoms, but that's already been done. The reason I was going to start a Pooboredsomsa thread was one time I was at this party in a strange place and they were playing this wild music with fucked up guitar solos that sounded like synthesizers just going insane and weird jerky rhythm (that didn't sound like the "tribal"-ish rhythms I'd heard from the boredoms before) and BLANKETS of noise in a lo-fi style and it really caught my ear, and then later I heard the guy who was in charge of the stereo saying he was playing rare Boredoms stuff, and I wondered why I hadn't been a big Boredoms fan before. I'm going to download all the songs from the POO! thread and see if any of them sound like that, but I thought maybe someone could recommend something similarly amazing on the really noisy rock tip. Any kinda noise you want. You can even just talk about noise if you'd like, I don't care, as long when I wake up there are good songs I can download on Soulseek that will cheer me up what are noisy.

I'm sorry if that was incoherent. The first time I heard "Heroin" i was 13 and it changed my life. It's kind of noisy. I'll pick it, because I can't think of anything else right now, tho I also like Sonic Dragolgo. This is really noisy SONGS, by the way, but whatever, talk about whatever.

Adam A. (Keiko), Sunday, 23 February 2003 06:41 (twenty-two years ago)

For pure noisy, I always recommend New Bomb Turks. "Id Slips In" should do up you up nice.

Kenan Hebert (kenan), Sunday, 23 February 2003 06:42 (twenty-two years ago)

you never should -- mbv

Aaron A., Sunday, 23 February 2003 06:45 (twenty-two years ago)

MBV and the New Bomb Turks??? Come on!

Jonathan Williams (ex machina), Sunday, 23 February 2003 06:52 (twenty-two years ago)

do you want it NOIZIER?

Aaron A., Sunday, 23 February 2003 06:54 (twenty-two years ago)

the jesus and mary chain - cracking up

jess (dubplatestyle), Sunday, 23 February 2003 06:57 (twenty-two years ago)

(the fact that this even went to number one on the "indie" charts in england is pretty fuckin amazing)

jess (dubplatestyle), Sunday, 23 February 2003 06:58 (twenty-two years ago)

whoops, not "cracking up", the first single..."upside down"?...haha this is the SECOND TIME i've made this mistake, except the first time was in print.

jess (dubplatestyle), Sunday, 23 February 2003 06:59 (twenty-two years ago)

Mindflayer - Wolfs and Whales

Jonathan Williams (ex machina), Sunday, 23 February 2003 07:01 (twenty-two years ago)

further research reveals that it is indeed: the jesus and mary chain - "upside down"

so download that

jess (dubplatestyle), Sunday, 23 February 2003 07:02 (twenty-two years ago)

Already we're running into a wall. I think noise means "loud, loose punk." Aaron thinks it means, "indie, but crazier." And Jonathan thinks it means "music to actually and seriously commit murder by."

Sorry Adam, but you're going to still have to sift through this to find the noise that most appeals to you.

Kenan Hebert (kenan), Sunday, 23 February 2003 07:14 (twenty-two years ago)

This thread title is barely safe for work.

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Sunday, 23 February 2003 07:20 (twenty-two years ago)

Jonathan Williams (ex machina), Sunday, 23 February 2003 14:10 (twenty-two years ago)

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Sunday, 23 February 2003 14:12 (twenty-two years ago)

Yes yes but what's your favorite song that hurts your ears!?!?

Adam A. (Keiko), Sunday, 23 February 2003 15:10 (twenty-two years ago)

MOBY - "What Love".. this PROVES what I said in the Avril vs. Norah thread.

Curt1s St3ph3ns, Sunday, 23 February 2003 15:12 (twenty-two years ago)

''Yes yes but what's your favorite song that hurts your ears!?!?''

'Raping a slave' by Swans (live in berlin '84). this can be found on their 'Body to body job to job' CD.

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Sunday, 23 February 2003 15:19 (twenty-two years ago)

crackin' up is actually one of the best jamc songs, so make that my suggestion. as good as anything on psychocandy.

also, yo la tengo "flying lesson (hot chicken #1)". it's a fabulous piece of noisy art-wank (i use the term in the most complimentary sense possible).

weasel diesel (K1l14n), Sunday, 23 February 2003 15:48 (twenty-two years ago)

"spec bebop" is another good yo la tengo one.

weasel diesel (K1l14n), Sunday, 23 February 2003 15:50 (twenty-two years ago)

Flying Saucer Attack, though i can't be bothered to cough up a particular track title; try anything off of _Rural Psychedelia_ or _Further_. Mr. Diamond's right about the Boredoms, too.

Cover all bases with:
The Cows-"Daddy Has A Tail" is my fav. but everything 'tis marvelous
The Jesus Lizard-"Goat" Beats the corpse of indie rock(rip)with a mace for a Birtday Party fugepackn' Zeplin good time.

brg30 (brg30), Sunday, 23 February 2003 22:41 (twenty-two years ago)

I pick any noise band in concert. It's one of the best kinds of music for the live experience.
Glenn Branca, Melt Banana, Merzbow, Girls vs Boys, Acid Mother Temple, or Mogwai are all sooo much better live then on recording.

A Nairn (moretap), Sunday, 23 February 2003 23:55 (twenty-two years ago)

sorry you can't download that.
