Lenny's New-Wave Angels

In a situation remarkably similar to the one described in the "Found a Job"(T Heads) thread (except that it happened TODAY) I realised I had to take some drastic action re unemployment situ so I had a hearty breakfast of marijuana then decided I felt like listening to some records so I played "Let's Go", "Double Life" then all of side 2 of 'Candy-O', then from 'Panorama' it was "Touch & Go" and the awesome "Gimme Some Slack", then I had this vision of US new-wavers like TV cops. If Ric Ocasek and Mark Mothersbaugh were two Angels (Lenny Kaye being 'Charlie'), who would be the third one? David Byrne is more of a Lt Castillo type, the B-52s more the A-Team, Iggy = (J Rockford vs A Fargas)

(L Reed = J Klugman, A Cooper = (R Culp vs L Majors), B Springsteen = T Magnum

Actually the Cramps were the A-Team. The B-52s were more like 'Three's Company' (I was about to see 'Happy Days' but admit it, 'HD' wasn't even good when it started)

This public service announcement has been brought to you by The Partnership For A Drug-Free America.

five years pass...

I'm listening to More Songs About Buildings and Food, and "I'm Not in Love" reminds me, as it always has, of Zep's ability to command stop-and-start tension. (The way it's recorded isn't dissimilar either.)

Then there's "My Sharona," whose riffy pounding has always seemed, er, not unrelated to LZ.

Thoughts?

That post was a mistake. I just wanted to read Dave Q's thread!

It takes a fast care dave, to be a TV cop.
