Diskette Releases - C/D? (List Some?) RFI?

I've heard about this. Are these just mp3 files on a floppy? Floppies cost more than CDRS. Has anyone seen bootable floppy releases? Demoscene crossovers? Or even bootable CDROMS?

I use them fr transferring stuff to non networked machines.

I remember Blastitude having some reviews of floppy music releases.
