Massive Attack Star Arrested Over Alleged Internet Child Porn Offences

"MASSIVE ATTACK's 3-D has been arrested and questioned by police over alleged Internet child porn offences.
The star, real name Robert Del Naja, was bailed by officers working on Operation Ore, the national crackdown on child porn.

Detectives seized computer equipment and a quantity of suspected drugs during a raid at Del Naja's home in Bristol on Monday (February 25).

A spokesman for Avon And Somerset Police said: "A man in his 30s from Bristol was arrested on February 25 in connection with allegations of the possession of class A drugs and Internet porn offences.

"He was bailed pending further inquiries."

The arrest was made under Avon And Somerset's Operation Ricochet, part of Operation Ore, the national crackdown on child porn.

Del Naja told The Sun newspaper today (February 27): "I have never looked at child pornography in my life.

"I am co-operating fully with the police and I would aks everyone not to judge me prematurely. I have total faith in the justice system."

Shit. It doesn't seem to matter when it's old duffers like Glitter or King being rumbled. When it's people whose work you like and respect it makes you question your faith in them (and by extension yourself). I truly hope it's false.

If I was being cynical and believed in conspiracy theories, I'd guess that Del Naja's high profile in the stop the war coalition may have something to do with it.

Ms.Dynamite is a So Solid Crew colaborator, and since those people have already been exposed as brutal gangstas hell-bent on turning the UK's youth on to a life of crime and violence. Hence she won't need to be framed (Damon Albarn won't need to be framed because, as ILM shows time and again, just being Damon Albarn already makes you offensive enough to a large section of the population.)

I hope it's not true, but unlike Matthew Kelly who somebody said was a nonce, 3D was caught in the American Operation to trawl through credit records retrieved from the server of a kiddie porn crew in Austin Texas. Same way as Townsend, if he paid for it then it's well suspect.
However if that bit is misreporting then the situation could resemble Kelly's in which the cops were acting on a "tip off".
Either way anyone accussed of this crime should be granted anominty till proven guilty.

...the official line is that the police were acting on an anonymous 'tip off', not the US porn ring stuff.

As I've said elsewhere, the Avon and Somerset police are so utterly useless and hopeless, this is actually quite reassuring - just to know they're still alive, really.
