What the fuck is this?

I love the guitar solo, though.

It's a song they did at the Rocket Crawley, back when Porl was still in the band the first time around (around 1976 or something). I think it was on a compilation called Cureiosity, pretty sure it appeared on the flip of the Concert cassette. I also found it on a boot CD that also had Carnage Visors.

YOU'RE JUST A HEROIN FACE

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Friday, 28 February 2003 15:35 (twenty-two years ago)

should be listed an Easy Cure track, I guess.. you're not missing much though. But do get the Concert/Curiosity cassette..

Fabrice (Fabfunk), Friday, 28 February 2003 15:44 (twenty-two years ago)

Easy Cure rocks. "See The Children" is one of the creepiest songs EVAH.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Friday, 28 February 2003 15:54 (twenty-two years ago)

ok, but its no 'all mine' or 'forever'

ron (ron), Friday, 28 February 2003 15:55 (twenty-two years ago)

"All Mine" is a garbled mess on _Curiosity_, though. "Forever" is awe-inspiring, though.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Friday, 28 February 2003 15:56 (twenty-two years ago)

A garbled mess it might be (on the Curiosity cassette....the b-side of Concert ), but I always thought it was incredibly striking....just Robert's plaintive wails, that echoey guitar and the occaisional punctuating beat of a drum. Sounds fantastic and monolithic when played VERY LOUD.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Saturday, 1 March 2003 08:20 (twenty-two years ago)

yeah, it's a terrible recording, but still it was one of my favorite cure songs

ron (ron), Saturday, 1 March 2003 08:32 (twenty-two years ago)

five years pass...

I can't believe Dan Perry is dismissing 'All Mine' on this thread.

baaderonixx, Wednesday, 1 October 2008 10:29 (seventeen years ago)

Dan Perry is dismissing an incredibly murky, indecipherable recording more than the actual song.

a friend of mine had "heroin face" on a comp entitled "Anomalies" (i think) when we were in high school. we thought it was great and tried to cover it in our awesomely horrible garage band Displaced Persons.

Man I miss my Concert/Curiosities cassette - pretty sure it was lifted at a party in college around 87 or so ... I keep the cassette sleeve for nostalgia sake and this thread just served to remind me to look for it on ebay or something. This should be on soulseek or torrented or something, right?

BlackIronPrison, Wednesday, 1 October 2008 14:33 (seventeen years ago)

It's definitely around -- that said, all the Curiosities tracks ended up on the reissues. Concert hasn't been rereleased yet, though.

Ned Raggett, Wednesday, 1 October 2008 14:37 (seventeen years ago)

Yeah with all the reissues you should be able to reconstruct Curiosities, if you are so enclined

baaderonixx, Wednesday, 1 October 2008 14:58 (seventeen years ago)

I like this song. So far the Three Imaginary Boys reissue is the only I've bought, there's lots of early goodies on disc 2 (which I guess were on Curiosity but I never had that)

I KNOW WHAT YOU'RE UP TO (Colonel Poo), Wednesday, 1 October 2008 15:02 (seventeen years ago)

The TIB bonus disc is like Curiosity^10.

after a google search I see that it's Curiosity - The Cure Anomalies 1977-84. was thinking i had missed out on something.

flyover statesman (will), Wednesday, 1 October 2008 15:11 (seventeen years ago)

Damnit I don't know these songs and I don't have access to 5l5k right now and I blame ILM as usual. Thanks a lot, guys.
