The line-up for the band now consists of Guy Chadwick on guitar and vocals, Terry Bickers on guitars, Pete Evans on drums and a new bass player called Matt Jury. Matt is a local to Brighton and was brought in by Terry. As a live band they held their first rehearsal two weeks ago at Terry's home which he desribed as "really good".
The band have been working on a number of new songs including, Feed My Fire (written by Chadwick and Bickers), Gabriella (written by Bickers), Kinda Love, Already Gone, Whatever Gets You Through, No Black Cloud (which Terry describes as sounding like U2's "Mysterious Ways") and Days Run Away (which Terry describes as being reminiscent of "The Hill" and "Ray"). All songs were written by Guy Chadwick except where stated. The rehearsal was almost exclusively based on the new songs, though they did try out "Christine".
The band have not started recording together, or even demoing, but are keen to play at least a dozen gigs together before deciding whether to try and record together.
The House of Love will perform their first live concert in almost ten years on Wednesday 26th March in Brighton (on the South coast of England).

First thought was: is there any significance to the fact that Kate Bush and House Of Love both released their last albums in 1993 and both are coming back this year? (well, in Kate's case, we'll leave it at supposedly?)
So...does this mean it's 1988 or 1993?

House Of Love
Announce details of re-issue of debut album and Don’t Look Back show.
The House Of Love have announced details of the re-issue of their seminal self-titled debut album on 24th September 2007.
The band are also set to perform the first album in its entirety when they play London’s Koko on 13th September as part of the Don’t Look Back series of gigs.
They are additionally set to re-release a compilation of early singles and rare tracks on September 24th. This record, also self-titled, was initially released in 1988 as an import only through Rough Trade Europe and collected together the A & B sides of the bands first 2 singles, Real Animal and Shine On, plus some previously un-released tracks. The re-issue will also feature the A & B sides of the band’s seminal single, Destroy The Heart, which didn’t appear on the original album.
The band’s debut long player was first released on Creation Records in 1988 following their much-acclaimed single, Christine. The 10-track album, featuring classic tracks such as Hope, Man To Child & Love In A Car was quickly hailed as one of the definitive independent releases of the late 1980’s.
Long out of print, the re-issue will come lavishly packaged in a card gatefold sleeve featuring the definitive original artwork plus extensive new sleeve notes.
The band re-formed in 2005 to release the warmly received long player, Days Run Away. This incarnation of the House of Love saw original members Guy Chadwick and Terry Bickers re-united for the first time in over a decade. This original line up, also featuring Pete Evans on drums, will perform at the Don’t Look Back show in September.

At long flipping last.
I had to make that album myself for my mp3 player, cunningly rearranging the tracks from the recent-ish Creation compilation.

Pulled my copy of the record out a couple of weeks ago and I had forgotten how good it is. I used to listen to it quite a bit about 15 years ago, so I was afraid that my memory would taint it. Nope. Salome might be one of the best songs of the era.

At the end of this piece about Insides:
I'm recording some new House of Love material at my studio, Church Road Recording Company with Terry and Guy.
