Don't Mention The B-Word!

On CAOTM recently, Mike suggested that we all just accept 'blog' as a word for any regularly-updated personal website. But there are certain people (mentioning no names, lalala) for whom such nomenclature is anathema. On the other hand a snappy word is probably needed. So, what should it be? Or are the blogfoes just silly? Your thoughts please....

Much as I would like to see I LOVE MUSIC recognised as the Académie française of the Free State of Regularly-Updated Personal Websites, I fear that people are likely to just do as they please. Personally, I do think that 'blog' is an ugly word unlikely to ignite the wider population's imagination, but then again I thought that about Boyzone. It also reminds me of the self-consciously unpretentious label 'Joe Bloggs', purveyors of shapeless fashions c.1989. And that can't be good.
