BUT - I was under the impression that "Läther" had never been officially released (in its intended form) until 1996, when Ryko finally put the four discs together into a single album - a year AFTER the Pavement album came out. Was the Zappa cow/thought baloon cover art floating around before then?
Also: the title of the ubiquitous Pavement bootleg "Stuff Up the Cracks" refers to the Zappa song "Stuff Up the Cracks" (from '68's "Cruising With Ruben & the Jets"). But I'm almost sure that the "Cracks" boot came out BEFORE "Wowee Zowee" (sometime in 1994). I assume I'm wrong - the bootleg creator was obviously not clairvoyant, and didn't magically know that Pavement's next album would be named after a Zappa song. Nevertheless, the chronology here has always thrown me.
Sorry to use so much text on something so absurdly picayune.

(Speaking of cover art fun, I assume you've seen this: http://www.plimsoul.com/knockoff_project/ )
So, uh, is that Guru Guru album any good? The only German bands I know are Amon Duul II and DJ Lars from "The Real World: London."
