I dig Alien Ant Farm's "Smooth Criminal" and "Movies" (the rest is pretty boring). Looove "Drive" by Incubus" (haven't heard their other pre-Morning View singles but I also liked "Wish You Were Here" and nothing else since). Simple Plan and New Found Glory do indeed suck.

The cut-up strobe-light bit in "Smooth Criminal" is, I think, way greater than people tend to give it credit for. I dunno, they're one of those bands that strike me as too unassuming and friendly to work up much ire toward, just a jokier nu-model version of 311 (who were similarly mostly harmless).

Yes, if all you get to hear is "Smooth Criminal"; I quite liked that one (I likes it when the y00f rawks out without having to include angst into the equation), and was quite surprised to find out that some of their other songs are quite serious, mediocre Semi-Nu-Metal.

Also: the time they played "Smooth Criminal" on Leno with the singer painted in the colours of the American flag- classic or dud? I thought it was moderatley off-putting because it was during that period where people were already abandoning all that flag waving and started to think a bit more critically, but it was also rather amusing because, you know, it's Alien Ant Farm making a bold patrotic gesture with their serious anthem.
