"Bowie hasn't made an album worth a "honorable mention" since "Diamond Dogs" back in 1974."
Also:Young Americans = good disco but safe career move, Berlin Trilogy = dud (I think; or, at least, not as good as what came before), 80s stuff = sellout.
I post this not to burst the fun, but I am interested to see if Geir's opinion has changed over the years. Though my guess would be...no, it has not.

My favourite Bowie record is "Low", but I love all of his 70s albums (except "Pin Ups" and possibly "Young Americans")

Hmmm. I have definitely changed my mind. :-)
I guess I changed my mind regarding Brian Eno at about the same time I stopped hating techno.
And several of his 1995 onwards output has been quite good too. Both experimental and "modern" albums like "Earthling" and more pop-oriented ones like "Hours" and "Heathen".

That would be "Fulfillingness First Finale". :-)
Bowie's best "soul record" (if it can be called "soul") is "Station To Station", but the title track (which is my main reason for liking that album so much) is more prog than soul, really.

Orbital, Røyksopp, Orb, Leftfield, Chemical Brothers, Daft Punk.
I guess most of it would sort under some sort of "progressive techno"

a thread that's title is "what does [x] think of [B]" seems a waste of time, and an inversion of normal practises around here -- who needs more threads on the same thing, or threads devoted to specific posters' attitude to something already covered ?
why waste screen thread space on redundant inquiry ? aren't computers meant to elimiate this sort of "red tape" ?
if the systems used here maintained threads over a week like news servers this sort of thing might make more practical sense, but ilm is not set up like a news server

that, and nothing is as obnoxious as a thread nanny.
― Tad (llamasfur), Sunday, 9 March 2003 18:06 (twenty-two years ago)
I already started a S/D thread. I have almost every Bowie album (although several of them are admittedly borrowed and burnt), so I have no problem participating in a Bowie thread - familiar with most of his stuff.

geir, why don't you stick to your david bawie thread then ?
