ADMIN: Threads Or Not?

We have the capability to make this forum a Usenet-style threaded one rather than the current Q-and-A format. I rather like the current format, but would anyone prefer threads?

God no. Keep it as it is. It's perfect. I can see that this quaint format might collapse into a heap if the number of contributors grows significantly, but until then it's so very civilised. Threaded forums are just so BORING and internet-heritage-geeky, encouraging people to act as boring internet-heritage-geeks with their channelled monkey-aggression and illiterate oafery. OK, I'm joking. But only a bit.

I like the 'we have the capability' line. What else have you got up your sleeve, Dr Ewing?

Keep it as it is. Don't *dream* of changing it.

Marquis Cha-Cha, Friday, 29 December 2000 01:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I like threads.

As it turns out this format isn't entirely hostile to channeled monkey aggression.

Lunacy. Loonacy.

What's the first EVAH topic/thread?

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Tuesday, 9 September 2003 12:13 (twenty-one years ago)

"illiterate oafery" has been part of my role I guess.

Songs About Quitting Your Job?
I think might fit the bill Nick. If you go to new questions page you can choose threads by month. A nice feature added by G.

The first ever thread was a thread by me complaining about how rubbish Indie was, Nick!

The job quitting one was the 3rd or 4th.

Indie Rock: What's Going On? this one?

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Tuesday, 9 September 2003 12:27 (twenty-one years ago)

That's the one. I think the first C/D thread (on the Wedding Present maybe?) was in between that and the jobs thread.
