Blue Lines Redesign: Suggestions?

Yes, it's another self-indulgent question.

I'm a bit sick of the current Blue Lines, so I've retired it, to return blazing with new life in a week or two. And I want to take the shocking step of - gasp! - redesigning. Does anyone have any suggestions for what I can do with the page?

Free porn ads. Your traffic will increase significantly.

Alternately, include some actual Blue Lines. But they need not be straight ones.

Personally I loved the original Blue Lines so much that I wouldn't want you to make any *dramatic* changes. I always liked the combination of personal (often quite emotional) stuff, musical / critical observations and the lighter moments / nonsense links. I wouldn't like the content to change that much, though I can understand why you haven't been feeling that good recently and how that contributes to the decline in the personal stuff that isn't light and relatively inconsequential.

The design could do with a rethink, though. Perhaps more instantly colourful - maybe a black background a la nylpm? I also thought the front page of FT worked better with a black background than with the current white one ...

Tom - I have to agree. I like (a) your content and (b) your crisp, clean, easy-to-read design. The blue and white is a stark combination, but very clear, and different from so many other sites that are white on black. And as for the content, if and when I get my weblog up and running (one day, one day . . . ) if the content is half as varied and well-written as yours, I'd be very satisfied.

I miss the written-on-the-tube theme, yo. :)

I too liked the original Blue Lines! The design is very clean and minimalist, and the writing manages to be personal w/out being *too* personal. If you wanted something different...um, maybe post pictures that document your hair's progress as it grows greyer and greyer? ;-)
