Help Me Find this Yes Song

A while ago a friend gave me a bunch of his old vinyl records b/c he no longer has a turntable. Included in this batch were six Yes albums. The records I have are:

Yessongs
Yesterdays
Close to the Edge
Fragile
Going for the One
Drama

There is a Yes song out there somewhere that I absolutely love, but I don't think it's on any of these LPs. Unfortunately, I'm going to have some trouble desribing the song I'm looking for. It's along, multi-part thing, and during this one section it's just acoustic guitar and harmonies, it sounds a little like Crosby Stills & Nash. Maybe there's some bird sounds happening, too, but it's been a couple of years since I've heard it.

It's definitely a song that was played on classic rock radio -- I know it's not obscure or anything. It's much prettier & more melodic than the stuff I've listened to on the above records.

Any idea which song this might be, and where I might find it?

Thanks.

How long is the song?

See if you can borrow The Yes Album from someone. (It's been a long time since I listened to it - but I'd guess it was an early-era song?)

Or is it "I See You" from the first Yes record? - Byrds cover...

I bet Dave 225's first answer is right--my guess is "I've Seen All Good People" which has a whole mid-section that sounds like CSNY and is still a classic rock staple.

Could also be "Yours Is No Disgrace" which is one of their early multi-section ones, and featuring a middle section with guitar and some very CSN&Y harmonies. It's on The Yes Album.

Looking at the lyrics, I think it might be "I've Seen All Good People." In any event, it sounds like The Yes Album is probably pretty good, yes? I see it for $1, so I'm hooked. Thanks a lot, folks.

Yes Album also features one of the few ILM-approved prog tunes: "Starship Trooper". Or maybe it was just s trife approved.

Yes, and let us not forget that "Starship Trooper" has one part called, "Würm," which I believe is German for "Worm."

the title track from "Going for the One" "may be their best ever"???!!!???!!!?!?!??!?!??!?? Blimey, that one's TERRIBLE!!

Jon Anderson says that "Awaken" (also from Going for One) is the best Yes track ever. Xgau + Jon = playing checkers in a romantic rock and roll getaway.

Okay, it was "I've Seen All Good People" (there is a live version on Yessongs but I hadn't heard it yet.) Great song. Uplifting, even. The Yes Album is the shit. There was a $1 copy of it at the store, but it was too scratched up.

The whole second side of that album feels a bit like a continuous whole for me and is all beautiful. The song is uplifting but in a serene, hymn-like way that is usually foreign to rock music. Something about the way it takes its time.

I agree, the way the organ breaks in at the end (of "Your Move"), and blends with the harmonies (with the barely audible "Give Peace a Chance" reference in the background), makes you feel like you're in church or something.

While there are a few repetitions in the song, I must say I love the end of "Perpetual Change", from "they move to testify the day..." onwards. Especially the gradual layering of 1) vocals coasting along ---> 2) guitar solo ---> 3)organ breaking in ---> off into the sunset. Perfect ending.

Barely audible?
I assume you must be thinking of some other section than when several guys are blaring "GIIIIIIVE PEAAACE A CHAAANCE!" in the background?

That's probably my least favorite moment in a Yes song that I otherwise REALLY like.
