Information about Eagle....

Eagle are from LA, Silverlake/Echo Park-based, I believe. What do they sound like? A very bubblegum/glam-oriented Teenage Fanclub, but more spirited and cuter and cartoonish. But not in a cheesy, obvious LA powerpop way. They're very funny live, have some of the spirit of old Redd Kross. Keyboard player Autumn towers over the rest of the band who are rather pint-sized. Autumn is married to Beachwood Sparks/Lilys drummer Aaron, there's that connection. Adam, one of the singer/guitar players, was in the Eels for awhile, but Eagle sound nothing like them, as far as I can tell. They have a self-titled ep out on Shipwreckords,an LA label. I wish they'd play around town more often.

eagle was also the name of what the '60s psych band the beacon street union turned into. their one lp (from about '70) is sort of flamin' groovies type hard rock/power pop & i like it. (the eagles should heed the lesson of one of their miserable '90s efforts and "get over it".)

Eagle 96.4 FM broadcasting to the Guildford Area - used to be classic but they have moved Jenny McConnell (sexiest voice on radio ever) to some Sunday pre-chart graveyard slot, so now quite possibly dud.
