Brinkmann: Tanks a Lot

Bought the new Max.E 12-inch a few days ago ("Argo Nauten..."/"Tina It Was Never You...") for the free mix CD it comes with, called Tanks a Lot--credited as "A Free Urus Martan Mix," but knowing Thomas Brinkmann's propensity for pseudonyms and that most of the tracks are his (including his Depeche Mode "I Feel Love" remix) I'm sure we can all figure this is his. It's basically a Brinkmann greatest-hits, and the best thing I've heard of his, goes thru all his styles really nicely. Anyone else have this?

(I haven't heard the 12-inch yet--no turntable)

yeah, brilliant. and what a lovely gift - a free mix CD for buying a 12"? man, if the majors could figure out something simple-but-inspired, people might actually go back to buying product.

urus-martan is a region in chechnya (hail google!). so either it's brinkmann, or a colleague with a taste for politicized DJ names.

yeah this is great. i like the way thoimas brinkmann just fills his tuns with the mopst cheesey sounds ever, but it sounds so un selfconscious it just makes you groin. i find it hard to link this with the image of him as the ultimate minimalist techno prodcuer. although all those orange 12"'s tend to bear that out...
dud on the cd tho: 'liquid sky'. no need for those sort of vocals
