"Sean Lennon came to blows with Brain McPeck - the lead singer of Paul Sevigny's band A.R.E. Weapons - Saturday at Swa. "Sean walked by and knocked Brain's hat off," said a witness. An infuriated McPeck called Lennon a "faggot" - and then fists flew. Bouncers broke it up and tossed both men."

I'm convinced ARE Weapons made their record in the same karaoke booth that Kim Gordon used for Addicted to Love. Only they do Love Stinks, Another Brick in the Wall, People Who Died, and at least one Suicide song (maybe two).

Is this story true? If so, did Sean mean to knock of McPeck's hat? More worryingly, is that the same Sevigny as Chloe? Is he Chloe's brother? Pardon me while I go snap that disc in half, then.

In any case, Sean Lennon seems deserving of savage beatings on a regular basis, so I'd vote for the Weapons guy. "NEW YORK MUSCLE - NEW YORK MUSCLE - NEW YORK MUSLCE....etc. etc."

yes Paul Sevigny manages the band - it's become their claimn to fame. Pity, because the band that those guys used to be in (Ayler's Angels / Army of Ghosts) were awesome.

Points for Love Stinks reference - the record DOES sound like that! As a guilty pleasure, though, I kinda like a few of the songs, and prefer "Don't Be Scared" to most of the new White Stripes. But that's me.
