I don't think the country is trurning into the Third Reich. I think it's seriously misguided right now, and under some truly historically bad leadership, but it's not quite a police state, and there's still plenty of room to fight it. It's strange, but I get a lot of hope out of this season of Fox's "24," starring Keifer Sutherland. Sure, it's action-melodrama. But consider these plot points: terrorists with nuclear weapons. The US government plotting to allow them there, to their own nefarious ends. Foreign ambassadors with pure motives. A president who really, honestly wants to avoid war. An Arab diplomat arming himself with an automatic weapon to shoot American soldiers, on American soil, becuase said soldiers are part of the evil plot to wage war. It's all couched in some pretty hokey plot, but there's real subversion (however subtle) going on, right on the Fox network. That's just great. It makes me happy to live where I do.

The Iron Sheik raps about glorious martyrdom, destroying Israel & defeating the Great Satan. I didn't make any judgements whether his music was "terrorist" or "freedom fighting," and I definitely didn't suggest his music was inherently Muslim.

Just thought it might be what Mordechai was after.

Hmmm. Interesting, but not quite what I was looking for. Maybe something less individually presented (ie: like a hip-hop artist giving his opinion) and more folk-terrorist music? I heard this song once from Israel, about lifting knives in the air, or something. I think it was a dati song.
