This is the thread where Geir talks about 'GREAT' bands like Travis, Coldplay etc and calls Chris Martin a genius cos he so obviously is

Geir, by participating in this thread you won't need to post your moronic 'Fran Healy is a God and I love him' type nonsense ever again. So go for it - defend Embrace too if feel in the mood.

Calum, Sunday, 6 April 2003 10:27 (twenty-two years ago)

heehee, what do I have to say to get a thread like that?
I love Travis
and Coldplay
and Embrace
and The Strokes
and every other band that I don´t mention now but surely is `chouette´
enough?

arc-de-ciel, Sunday, 6 April 2003 10:43 (twenty-two years ago)

In other words, and on-topic thread unlike yours. :-)

Geir Hongro (GeirHong), Sunday, 6 April 2003 11:02 (twenty-two years ago)

Daniel_Rf (Daniel_Rf), Sunday, 6 April 2003 12:20 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh stop it, Geir is about to tell us how Genesis saved the 70s...

Calum, Sunday, 6 April 2003 12:50 (twenty-two years ago)

The 70s needn't be saved. They had been great even without Genesis. At least the first half of them. :-)

Geir Hongro (GeirHong), Sunday, 6 April 2003 12:56 (twenty-two years ago)

Geir - have you ever been to a concert that has an attendance level less than 10,000 people?

Calum, Sunday, 6 April 2003 13:05 (twenty-two years ago)

Geir - have you ever been to a concert that has an attendance level less than 10,000 people?

What does that matter? What's wrong with a lot of people liking good music?

Well, there were definitely considerably fewer than 10.000 at the Lightning Seeds concert I went to in Oslo in 1997.

Geir Hongro (GeirHong), Sunday, 6 April 2003 13:07 (twenty-two years ago)

The Lightning Seeds.

Case is now closed. I win, you lose.

Calum, Sunday, 6 April 2003 13:10 (twenty-two years ago)

i love how in trying to show geir up, calum is himself shown up to be an even bigger twatbthan before...

I want to put this thread under glass and affix most of the posters here with pins to a cardboard backing.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Sunday, 6 April 2003 13:54 (twenty-two years ago)

Like darling butterflies!

N. (nickdastoor), Sunday, 6 April 2003 14:05 (twenty-two years ago)

Let us reel around the fountain, Mr. N.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Sunday, 6 April 2003 14:06 (twenty-two years ago)

parachutes is a GREAT record to fall asleep and/or unwind to. (and no, i do NOT mean that as an insult!)

Eisbär (llamasfur), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 07:25 (twenty-one years ago)

eleven months pass...
REVOLVE

gramps, Sunday, 6 February 2005 02:58 (twenty years ago)

Travis = pants
Coldplay = Remarkably good. I know its wrongheaded and flies in the face of the current critical consensus, but I prefer Coldplay to Radiohead.
Geir saying 'Chris Martin a Genius' is akin to Tony Wilson saying 'Shawn Ryder is a poet'; ie. either a subtle joke or a proof of a well hidden brain tumor.

Lord Custos Epsilon (Lord Custos Epsilon), Sunday, 6 February 2005 23:18 (twenty years ago)

Geir is better than the lot of you.

Leon the Fatboy (Ex Leon), Sunday, 6 February 2005 23:22 (twenty years ago)

Geir is better than the lot of you.

buzz-harsher, Sunday, 6 February 2005 23:23 (twenty years ago)

I'd give Geir a 64, but I can't dance to him.

Lord Custos Epsilon (Lord Custos Epsilon), Monday, 7 February 2005 03:05 (twenty years ago)

Bizarre philosophy regarding melody > alleged "jokes" that would make Coulier blush

Leon the Fatboy (Ex Leon), Monday, 7 February 2005 20:48 (twenty years ago)

No, the "bizarre philosophy regarding melody" is also signs of a brain tumor. It's not even "devils advocacy"; it's just madness.

Lord Custos Epsilon (Lord Custos Epsilon), Saturday, 12 February 2005 06:54 (twenty years ago)

one year passes...
I'd give Geir a 64

I already have one, although the keyboard doesn't work anymore. A great 64 emulator is found at http://www.computerbrains.com/ccs64/ though.

Geir Hongro (GeirHong), Friday, 10 March 2006 15:48 (nineteen years ago)

But do you still need it?
