I did not pull it into my hard drive... the reason why I am asking this stupid question is that I am unclear as to what I can legally link in a post. Are images from other sites on the web protected to the extent that I cannot have them in a post? And, if I do post them on a board like iLm, am I vulnerable to a credible lawsuit? What about iLm? Or... am I making too much of nothing?

if someone's reserving copyright on their photos, then yes it would be illegal to use them. probably more importantly it is generally considered bad form to link to other peoples pics, because they are paying for that bandwidth. some people feel that they don't mind doing this to big companies, but respect the smaller sites. some people feel that it's not that big a deal to link pics on a message board such as this. in the end, it's yr call and yr responsibility.
