This is kind of alarming. I'd like to know more -- like what the Army has to say about it, for example. But on the face of it, very weird.

'two plainclothes Army officers' = this story is bullshit

Why?

Whether or not it's bullshit is up for debate - but the idea of military officials not being dressed in full uniform is hardly outlandish.

maybe it was the men in black, or the UN's secret army.

She said, 'That's free speech,' and they said, 'Well, things are changing these days.'"

I wouldn't be surprised actually as organizers have been targeted, esp. those with more "extreme" views & Franti's not just some antiwar musician (what I've heard of Spearhead I find deadly dull by the way) but a rilly well known activist/organizer type -- significantly moreso than Rage, for example in terms of the groups he's worked with & stands he's taken and etc.

He's telling this story himself too, or he did on Democracy Now. In his own way he has as much credibility at stake as anyone and I find it hard to imagine that he'd go making shit like this up, tho of course the story is second hand & I know when my mother tells any story she gets plenty of details wrong so maybe his did too.
