Is her once-mooted Poptones album ever going to surface? I've got two tracks of hers on compilations and they're ace. Sonny, do you know what's happening with this LP?

It might be coming out on another label. I know someone who is working on it at present. Don't want to say in case it does not happen. But that album is indeed ace - did you know that Joey Stec from the Millennium produced it??? There is definitely some interest from this one fella' who wants to put that out. What tracks are they Jim? Interesting that they are on a compilation. I can see if it's the same as the ones on the album I have.

I think she also sang on a couple of Echoboy tracks.

I had read somewhere about Joey Stec working on it, in a Joe Foster interview I think it was. The tracks I've heard are one from her 7" on Dishy, the other is on the Poptones Radio 4 Volume 2 comp..

I can make you a copy of the album if you like? It's great. Joe Foster is the fella' who is working on it at present - trying to stop it from becoming just another album from the vault. I'm going to put it on ...

The album is really nice. The percussionist from the Prodigy plays on it. It has a Margo Gunyan/Sandy Denny vibe. Maybe even Tim Hardin? Poptones has the strangest stuff in the vaults when things went a bit pear shaped. Boggles that it's left in there. The Flowered Up guy's album is a killer as well.

yeah i have to say i was really disappointed at some of the bands that got shelved. i'm glad that Rainbow Quartz came to the rescue of the Outrageous Cherry/Matthew Smith-related stuff.

a copy of the Tasha Lee lp would be fantastic - i'll email you when i get home.
