Sam J. (samjeff), Monday, 7 April 2003 15:42 (twenty-two years ago)

chaki (chaki), Monday, 7 April 2003 15:45 (twenty-two years ago)

There are several Ween songs though "Right To The Ways And The Rules Of The World" is the one that comes to mind immediately.

zaxxon25 (zaxxon25), Monday, 7 April 2003 15:48 (twenty-two years ago)

there are a few Railroad Jerk songs where Marcellus Hall laughs a little, "40 Minutes" from One Track Mind and another, I think...

Horace Mann (Horace Mann), Monday, 7 April 2003 15:50 (twenty-two years ago)

doris the thinkasaurus!

Fritz Wollner (Fritz), Monday, 7 April 2003 15:52 (twenty-two years ago)

The Residents: Breath and Length (Did they edit this giggle out of the current and much inferior version of Meet The Residents? I forgot.)

Christine "Green Leafy Dragon" Indigo (cindigo), Monday, 7 April 2003 15:54 (twenty-two years ago)

Beck's forgotten classic "Fume".

nickalicious (nickalicious), Monday, 7 April 2003 15:56 (twenty-two years ago)

Elvis, "Baby Let's Play House"

Burr (Burr), Monday, 7 April 2003 16:15 (twenty-two years ago)

James Blount (James Blount), Monday, 7 April 2003 16:19 (twenty-two years ago)

90% of songs featuring Morris Day

James Blount (James Blount), Monday, 7 April 2003 16:19 (twenty-two years ago)

Fume IS a forgotten classic. I, for instance, had completely forgotten about it. Thanks for reminding me.

slutsky (slutsky), Monday, 7 April 2003 16:22 (twenty-two years ago)

Cyndi Lauper on "She Bop." Though I think it was a very calculated "I'll-laugh-after-I-sing-this-lyric" thing. Still, it worked in a marvelous way.

"Well they say I better get a chaperone"
[Defiant chuckle}
"Because I can't stop messin' with the danger zone."

Jeanne Fury (Jeanne Fury), Monday, 7 April 2003 16:31 (twenty-two years ago)

Temptation inside your heart - VU
Did You Evah? & The Horse Song - Iggy Pop
Mr Malcontent - Lloyd Cole
Let's Get Physical - Revolting Cocks

dave225 (Dave225), Monday, 7 April 2003 16:40 (twenty-two years ago)

"The Residents: Breath and Length (Did they edit this giggle out of the current and much inferior version of Meet The Residents? I forgot.)"

Not in my version. Why inferior?

Dadaismus, Monday, 7 April 2003 16:43 (twenty-two years ago)

One of the better songs on Plush's first album (I don't remember the title), when he reaches for a note that isn't there and cracks up. I like that. That record is great.

and I question the authenticity of the laugh, but Joni's "a-hahahaha" at the end of Big Yellow Taxi comes to mind.

roger adultery (roger adultery), Monday, 7 April 2003 16:43 (twenty-two years ago)

haha wasn't there an inauthentic Janet laugh in her pseudo-cover of this too, or is that some other Janet song? didn't she laugh in that song in which at the end she says "that's the end?!"

Vic, Monday, 7 April 2003 16:48 (twenty-two years ago)

Does David Bowie's The Laughing Gnome count? Or is that too fake?

Tijn, Monday, 7 April 2003 16:48 (twenty-two years ago)

does Stipe actually laugh on 'The Sidewinder Sleeps Tonite' when he mentions Dr Seuss or has it always just been my imagination?

stevem (blueski), Monday, 7 April 2003 16:50 (twenty-two years ago)

He laughs.

The Beatles - "Maxwell's Silver Hammer" (the "writing fifty times" line)

Evan (Evan), Monday, 7 April 2003 16:53 (twenty-two years ago)

Michael Stipe should laugh way more often.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Monday, 7 April 2003 16:53 (twenty-two years ago)

David Bowie - Laughing Gnome
genuine laughter somewhere in there.

Carey (Carey), Monday, 7 April 2003 17:12 (twenty-two years ago)

I think the Janet-Bot laughs in all of her singles.

Ally to thread!

Also Mandy Moore fake-giggled smirkingly in her " breakthrough'" single "Candy" or whatever it was called in which she said "My name's Mandy, like Candy." I remember this vividly.

Vic, Monday, 7 April 2003 17:15 (twenty-two years ago)

Orange, Monday, 7 April 2003 17:57 (twenty-two years ago)

Haha, that's true... that's the king of Dylan laughter songs.

Sam J. (samjeff), Monday, 7 April 2003 18:04 (twenty-two years ago)

Matrimony, "Elvis Superstar." You hear a giggle in the second repetition of the line "but he ne-(giggle)-hever went...quite that far."

The Slits, "A Boring Life"

Douglas (Douglas), Monday, 7 April 2003 18:56 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh, on a similar topic, does anyone remember the video The Fall did for "Wings" when Mark E Smith flubs the lyrics and Brix starts laughing? That's my favorite video ever.

also, don't the Godz laugh on "Radar Eyes" or is that just coughing?

roger adultery (roger adultery), Monday, 7 April 2003 19:21 (twenty-two years ago)

nevermind, I'm thinking of the Swell Maps "Full Moon in My Pocket," and yes, I think it's a laughing cough.

roger adultery (roger adultery), Monday, 7 April 2003 19:22 (twenty-two years ago)

What about the alternate take of "And Your Bird Can Sing" on one of the Beatles' Anthology sets? Does that count or is there TOO much laughing to qualify?

Jazzbo (jmcgaw), Monday, 7 April 2003 20:23 (twenty-two years ago)

beck - "bogusflow"

guava, Monday, 7 April 2003 20:43 (twenty-two years ago)

Evidently, King Crimson's lead singer Gordon Haskell cracked up at Sinfield's goofy lyrics on "Indoor Games" from Lizard (1970). Fripp and Sinfield decided to keep it as an ending for the track, then fibbed to the press that the laughing was intentionally planned.
