I'll admit a fondness for Rust Red September

There's a thread somewhere in the archives on this, I think...

Shit....Ya know I try to search and it just freezes!

i have a soft spot for them, even though i know they're dud.

I feel the same way and that's why I can't bring myself to sell the records. See also: Felt.

Felt i'm not saussure about. I notice though that Back in Denim is listed by Mojo as the Britpop album (!!!!!)

Classic, esp. pre-Back From The Rains. Of course, this is from someone who named his zine after the second Eyeless album, so...

Classic despite melodrama and some cringeworthy missteps. Any band that have bizarro-yet-strangely-moving songs like "Speech Rapid Fire", "Rose Petal Knot", "Invisibility", "See Red", "Every Which Way", "Keynote Inertia", "Light Sliding", and "Changing Stations" in their catalogue have to be more classic than dud.

Wouldn't say "lost 80s gem" because I can totally understand why someone could hate their sound. Qualified classic.
