I should be there--most likely wearing my work uniform ("Audubon Nature Institute: Celebrating the Wonders of Nature!" Ugh.)--so say hi. Anyone know anything about these Paper Lions? They are on Kindercore, which is generally not a good thing.

CAROLINER RAINBOW SPRING SKULLS SET OUT TO SWELTER
With:
Nautical Almanac (+Carlos Giffoni)
Angelblood
(members of no neck blues band and gang gang dance + rita ackermann.)
ORTHO
Caroliner, a black light augmented, go to hell and pump thunder band, was formed in 1983 in order to portray the cabin fever and ergot poisoned hallucinations of early America, namely the 1800s.
Caroliner is renowned for delivering an incredible live show, packed with irridescent dream-like (or nightmarish) props and amazing flourescent costumes. Its really more "like an angry painting come to life" than a band performing...but perform they do. The music is extremely experimental Country & Western/noise, a bit of old fashioned parlor music and a whole lot of energy....even after all this time.
It's been more than a coon's age since Caroliner has done a tour. After putting out 12 records, and touring Japan and the US extensively, they decided to sit back and let the tunes accumulate. A long hiatus finds these historians with a new stage set, shiny new costumes and a new list of antique songs that tell the tales of kettle bottoms dropping, of bug dust and Bilious fever. A recent show at The Great American Music Hall (the first in 3 years!) was extremely succesful. So successful in fact, that they have decided to pack up and hit the trail again in support of the new double LP "Wine Can't do it, Wife Won't Do."

Ex-Models, f'real.
The Kills were The Worst Thing Ever when I saw them (with Jon Williams, actually.) As I recall, we left during their set, knowing full well that if we had stayed we would have been able to eat FREE CAKE.
