...has anyone heard the new mixes? Does anyone have the MP3s I can hear yet? It's a pretty impressive line up of remix talent....Pet Shop Boys, Danny Tenaglia, Felix da Housecat, Peter Rauhofer, Rui Da Silva, Orange Factory and legends Francois K and Eric Kupper.

I have the "Yang Yang" remixes. Pretty out there.

I didn't even know this had been remixed - I'll need to get ordering these, I think.....

could potentially be horrible. the francois k one may well be great though.

the Tenaglia, PSB, Felix and Kupper mixes will be, I'm sure, pretty spectacular.

She played Nag Nag Nag in London last week - and what a great appearance on the Jonathon Ross Show the other week - she looks amazing. Nice lady, too.

"kiss kiss kiss" was better

I love virtually all her stuff, bar the mid 80s nonsense.

Death of Samantha's probably my favourite Ono song.

RFI: Other Yoko songs (not LPs) as good (i.e., as catchy) as "Walking on Thin Ice" or "Kiss Kiss Kiss" (not incl. the rest of the Double Fantasy tracks which I also love). Is "Death of Samantha" catchy like B52s?

No, it's a ballad. It's the one that goes "People say I'm cool/I'm a cool chick baby..."

s woods - there's a pretty good copilation available on Rykodisc called Walking on Thin Ice - all the best stuff is on this CD. Definitely worth getting.

Interesting you think she's a bit like the B52s - Rock Lobster's one of her favourite singles - and if you listen to Rock Lobster, it's obvious they themselves have been heavily influenced by Ono.

Didn't know that comp existed, russ t--thanks for the info! (I asked the question because I never 'got' the early stuff that people often rave about, but it's all pretty daunting; plus I figure I like the wavey stuff better anyway.)

Definitely get the WOTI comp - it also has 'Sleepless Night' and 'You're The One,' both sooooo excellent.

'walking on thin ice' is a good compilation but i couldn't live without the entirety of 'yoko ono/plastic ono band' and 'fly'. especially 'fly'.

'dup dup train, stop the killing of man.'
