I've heard one of their CDs, a French friend of mine lent it to me. Not bad, in a Mogwai/Slint-ish vein. I'll email him and see if he knows more...

Yeah it's an indie band of the early and mid-90s. They made three albums I think. They were ok without being geniuses, they sometimes sounded really pretentious and over-arty. The band splitted, giving birth a few years later to two new bands, Experience (one album) and Programme (two). Programme is quite political, vaguely debordian I guess.

search "le gout du jour". arty indierock in the vein of velvet underground (softer side of their 1st album) from the south of france. i love the female singer's voice.
