Tenacious D and Electric 6 both cancelled tours of Europe because the poor little lambkins were afraid to go within five thousand miles of the Iraq warzone.

any other examples of softy lightweight wimpcore bands?

Tenacious D was going to tour Europe? Europeans have worse taste than I thought.

The D seems to be a pretty American joke anyway.

maybe no one was buying tickets for Tenacious D and then they got Bush to invade Iraq so they could cancel the gig.

DMX cancelled Cdn dates.

Horace Mann (Horace Mann), Friday, 11 April 2003 13:35 (twenty-two years ago)

matchbox 20 - cancelled at the start of the war, mind you.. why anyone would want to see this gormless bland band in Britain is beyond comprehension.

In fairness to bands of this ilk, might it be that The War On Terrorism gave them a prepackaged excuse to stay at home twiddling their thumbs rather than plod through their gormless songs in front of sports hall after sports hall of equally gormless Europeans? Just a thought innit.

DJ Mencap (DJ Mencap), Sunday, 13 April 2003 10:23 (twenty-two years ago)

Moby looks like whatever ails him is a lot worse than SARS.

minitru, Sunday, 13 April 2003 19:38 (twenty-two years ago)

DJ Mencap, no one is forcing these bands to come to Europe.

DV (dirtyvicar), Sunday, 13 April 2003 20:49 (twenty-two years ago)

James Blount (James Blount), Sunday, 13 April 2003 20:54 (twenty-two years ago)

Isn't Wu-Tang touring Israel right now? Supposed to be showing "solidarity" or something.

Killing Joke have never been happier that the apocalypse is pending. World tour ahoy!

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Sunday, 13 April 2003 21:46 (twenty-two years ago)

I had a dream last night that my band (who's barely played our own hometown, much less anywhere else) was touring Brazil. Then I woke up. Does that count?
