I admit Locomotion was one of Goffin/Kings weaker songs, but her album Lllloco-Motion had some great versions of Brill classics...

It may have been one of their weaker compositions, but what a performance! It sounds like her heart is full of pure joy.

Is there no love for Little Eva? Fun fact: she was babysitter for Goffin/King.

I can't say I know anything but that one hit, I think. Still, it was a terrific single.

This is a bummer. R.I.P, Little Eva.

I am wistfully locomoting around my computer.

"Locomotion' was great fun.
related non-fun-fact to her being Goffin/King's babysitter - "he hit me (it felt like a kiss)" is supposedly about her and her boyfriend

Aw shit....

LLLLLittle Eva!!! is the greatest girl group LP. Even better is the single "I'm Just a Little Girl." Martin, you should hear both, you'd love them.

Damn.

Her version of 'swinging on a star' with Big Dee Irwin is my first memory. As well as being a pop classic.

cis (cis), Sunday, 13 April 2003 21:54 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah, the song's not great, but it's got one of the best intros in rock and roll history. Hey, which came first, "The Locomotion" or "Da Doo Run Run" because i just remembered that the latter shares that great intro.

Mike Ouderkirk (Mike Ouderkirk), Monday, 14 April 2003 05:54 (twenty-two years ago)

What is the trick with that intro? The horns playing the one note over and over like that sounds like the most exciting thing ever. "Da Doo Run Run" is a more exciting song though.

Sean (Sean), Monday, 14 April 2003 15:51 (twenty-two years ago)

What is the trick with that intro?

Distortion!

"You can check this information on the radio show. Diggin' that chick Little Eva singing Locomotion." She got up, got up and got out.
