Felix should have got a front cover with the NME this year but instead they support hyped no talent/ hyped rubbish such as Andrew W.anK.er - the only thing this plank will achieve - will be stacks of copies in HMV bargain buckets in Jan 2003 with a 2.99 sticker.

Anyway by the end of the record I was really enjoying it.

He has lots of great stuff, Maddkat Courtships Enter Lite Exit Nite is fantastic, even 5ive thought so. Kittenz and Thee Glitz and his half of the Justin Robertson/Felix Bugged Out mix album deserve to be mentioned too.

Surprisingly, given what I've been saying about pop on the electro (clash) threads, it was what Andy K describes above as the hard techno section in the middle of the mix that I liked best. I swear to God it affected me in the same way as MBV's Loveless does.

does this mix have a name? am i going to be able to track it down on soulseek?

Haven't actually heard it, but the fact that it's from '97 and therefore from a creative low point for chicago artists as Relief had played out its innovations and Felix was yet to go glittery suggests to me that it'll be fairly average hard minimal detroit-isms, but with bigger kickdrums.

But that could be prejudicial nonsense.

his remix of rex the dog 'bubblicious' is good in a reliable if unremarkable way. last album was mostly terrible (and i liked at least half of 'devin dazzle').

Does anyone not think this is his best, or do people not care anymore? It is really good!!

New full length album Son of Analogue available with the April issue of Mixmag. A third of it is him experimenting with D&B-ish drum patterns and the rest seems like the source material for Last Train To Paris. Only on my second listen, but so far this is my favorite track...

he's a regular touring dj still afaict, seems like he's basically inactive as a producer though, not like he's in any way unique in this.
